AMRITSAR: The security forces seized the biggest-ever consignment of sophisticated arms and ammunition in the Tam Taran area recently of Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahai himself.

Indian newspapers reported that to track the militant leader security forces assisted by the Army combed the area. In the cache were hundreds of rifles 110 pistols 50 rocket launchers 30 RPG-7 type (Russian-made) rockets 67 bombs of plastic explosives 10 detonators and a large quantity of ammunition.
The weapons were wrapped in plastic covers and dumped in the five-foot deep bunker built below the floor of a room in the secluded farm house was a retired security man and is said to be absconding.
This is the first time in the past decade that such a large quantity of arms and ammunition has been seized.
Sources say recently the police received a tip-off that Baba Manochahal was in the area. Intelligence agencies corroborated this information.
During the searches security forces were fired at from a farm house. The ensuing encounter lasted 10 minutes but no casualties were reported on either side.
