LOS.ANGELES: After being feted Saturday evening May 9, the W.S.N. group were at the Lanker shim Gurdwara in L.A to pay their respect .

They were greatly moved by the Bhog Ceremony which was followed by Shabad Kirtan performed by Bhai Gurdeep Singh, Ragi Jathas and Shabad performed by Bhai Jaspal Singh.

Students from the Akal Academy gave a program in both Punjabi and English and explained to the Sangat some of the basic principles of the Sikhs in a responsive reading question and answer format.

The student Bibi Rajinder Kaur talked about Akal Academy. Of the 500 students, 150 are orphans, victims of the violence in Punjab. She said, “Our mission is to bring Sikh children to the mainstream Sikhs. We appeal to you to sponsor these orphans and help them. The expense for one student is $150 or Rs 5000 per year. Our building is not completed yet, Each room under construction costs $2100 to complete, We respectfully ask for your financial support. Akal Academy ( Gurdwara Barru Sahib ) was started in 1956 and is located in the beautiful hills of Har machal Pradesh.”

Feeling very fortunate to be present in the Sadh Sangat, the manager of WSN said,” You know the background of Khalistan many organizations were created during the movement for independence WSN is one of them.

Our mission is clear. The basic premises established in 1984 remains the same, we have lots o problems to face but with you help and Gods blessings we have published for the last 8 years. We will continue until we achieve our goal. I appeal to you for your support and subscription and I thank you for your past support.”

Bhai Jaspal Singh reiterated the managers statements about 4 strong media and quoted Guru Granth Sahib, saying, “Khalsa can live only under the govt. of Guru, not any other govt.”

W.S.N, thanks the Secretary of the Management Committee of the Gurdwaras. Tarlochan Singh who was in charge of all the arrangements and to the Sangat of the Gurdwara for their hospitality and support.
