SRINAGAR: The All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) urged people to assemble for protest meet in the city to mourn the death of militants belonging to the JKLF (Ammanulah) in the vicinity of the Hazratbal shrine,

Speaking at a Press conference here, APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umer Faroog asked people to assemble last week at the Jamia Masjid where the APHC would decide its future course of action to protest against the killing of the JKLF (Ammanullah) militants ‘on March 30. Flanked by senior APHC leaders, Abdul Gani Lone, Moulvi Mohammad Abbas Ansari, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Ghulam Nabi Sumji and Yascen Malik, the Mirwaiz criticized the decision to hold Lok Sabha elections in the State.

Terming the decision as “result on the wounds of the people Kashmir,” he said that the APHC had rejected the “so-called elections” and that the present lull in the Valley was enough proof that people were not interested in it Asked to comment on the Union Minister of State for home, Syed Sibie Razi’s reported statement that important shrines in the Valley would be given additional security by personnel of the National Sec Guards (NSG), Mirwaiz Umer said it was a “conspiracy” to take control of religious places and to restrict the voice of the people.”
