DARJEELING: The youth wings of all the anti GNLF political parties and some student organizations have jointly formed a new body in the Darjeeling hill areas the Bharatiya Nepali Yuwa Parishad (BNYO) to agitate for the inclusion of the Nepali language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. The first phase of the agitation ‘will start this month, according to BNYPO spokesman Dhruva Subba. ‘Subba said the agitation on language issue would be extended to the national level, The Federal Front, consisting of 34 minorities, Dalits ‘and Naxalite organizations and prominent leaders like Syed Shahbuddin, ‘Rajni Kothani and Simranjit Singh Mann, would provide the BNYP a national forum for agitation. It will be supported by Sikkim chief minister Nar Bahadur Bhandari ‘The BNYP at present consists of the CPI (M)’s DYFl and the SFI, the ‘Youth Congress, the Gorkha League’s Tarun Gorkha, the youth wings ‘of the BIP, the Gorkha land Liberation Organization, the Uttar Bangal Prarishad the Bharatiya Nepali Bidyanhi Union, the Hill Students” ‘League and the Sanjukta Vidyarthi Parishad, Subbha has appealed to all the organizations to sink their differences and unit on the language issue, He said social and cultural organizations would join the BNYP soon.
