CHANDIGARH, India: Seven persons were killed at different places in Punjab during the last 24hours. This includes four persons who were shot dead from a hijacked bus near Kahnuwarn, District Gurdaspur. According to Punjab police sources four gunmen stopped a bus with SO) passengers near village Biruwal. These unidentified gunmen boarded! this bus from the front and the rear doors. The driver of the ill-fated bus who was also shot at and injured, was forced to drive to a deserted stretch of road where five persons of one religion were dragged out and shot at. Four of them died at the spot while the fifth injured man was admitted in Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Amritsar.
In another incident, three gunmen looted 130,000 rupees from a bank at V. Sangdhesian District Jullundur. They came on a scooter and went away with the looted money.
The police sources were worried about the snatching of two Maruti cars by some unidentified gunmen which according to them are being used to commit further crimes.
