MADRAS: The Madras High Court last week granted a fourth injunction restraining for six weeks K. Govindan Kutty, author and K. P.R. Nair, publisher (Konark Publishers, Delhi) and T, N, Seshan, Chief Election Commissioner, from releasing, publishing and selling the book titled “Seshan An Intimate Story” with the passages Containing reference to Annadurai by connecting him with the CIA directly or indirectly.
Justice A. R. Lakshmanah granted the stay last week, while passing interim orders on a civil suit from Mrs. Rani Annadurai, widow of late C_N, Annadurai and their adopted sons C.N.A. Parimalam and C.N. A.langovan and former MP Era Sezhiyan. According to plaintiffs, the anti-Hindi agitation had a long and significant background in the political history of India in general and Tamil Nadu in particular. The ‘Opposition to Hindu was a long Standing process from 1939, Though Anna was alcading light, there were a lot of other eminent persons who joined the agitation. There had been no evidence to prove that Anna was a’ play thing’ of a foreign intelligence. This was an atrocious piece of pernicious perfidy ‘manufactured’ by T.N. Seshan and ‘marketed” by the biographer.
If it was true that Seshan had some vital information about the nefarious role of a foreign agency in disturbing peace and law and order situation in the country, it was not known as to why he did not pass on the information to the appropriate authority for necessary action at that time, Did he keep this information reserved for a biography of his to be written nearly after three decades? The conclusion was that Seshan had deliberately and knowingly passed On this false information to his biographer to ramish the character and apolitical credibility of Anna. The author had also knowingly colluded with Seshan in this character assassination.
