Amrit Singh Sandhu son of Mr. and Mrs., Anup Singh Sandhu of Sterling, Massachusetts, left for his heavenly abode in the prime of his life on July 2, 1986. The Sandhu family, on the occasion of the Bhog ceremony and Antam Ardas held in his memory on July 13, 1986, announced the establishment of a nonprofit Trust Fund forwarding three academic scholarships to deserving and needy Sikh students every year for studies in Medicine, engineering and business.
The family has contributed $111,000.00 to the Trust. The investment yield from this fund will be utilized to award three scholarships each year in the above fields. Any tax deductible donations to this fund should be sent (marked Amrit Singh Sandhu Scholarship Fund) c/o 114 Larchmont Lane, Hanover, Massachusetts, 02339.
Due to the time involved in setting up the Trust and obtaining tax exemption status it appears that the first three scholarships will be awarded for the year 19901991 academic years.
Until the tax exempt status is received, checks may be made payable to the New England Sikh Study Circle.
