BOMBAY: The son of a textile tycoon who within a few years emerged from obscurity to owning assets of Rs 32,000 million mainly due to the patronage of Congress I, was arrested along with others on charges of conspiring to kill Nusli Wadia, the chairman of Bombay Dyeing Textile Company. bai Ambani of Reliance Textiles and one Anjun Bania were remanded into police custody by the Metropolitan magistrate on August 1.

The central Government sought to transfer the case to Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) but the Bombay High Court granted a system to the proceedings.

The court passed the order on a criminal writ petition filed by Anil Gote a journalist and moved on his behalf by imminent jurist Ram Jethmalani..

He spoke of the indecent haste with which Bombay Police was diversted of the investigation over a conspiracy to murder Nusli Wadia.
