ISLAMABAD (PTI): The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Amanullah Khan was arrested on March 25 from the organization’s headquarters at Rawalpindi five days before his scheduled plans to cross the line factual control in India in Kashir.”
Police at Rawalpindi cantonment station did not disclose were Khan had not been taken nor was it known if other JKLF leaders had also been picked up.
Police have been posted outside the JKLF Headquarters. No one was answering the telephones there.
The Pakistan foreign office had said recently that Islamabad would take necessary action if it failed to dissuade the JKLF from calling off the plan.
Khans arrest comes after the finalization of the JKLF plans for the March 30 crossing.
The JKLF chief had said the other day that he expected a much bigger participation in the March than the abortive-one on February 11 last.
