LA HABRA HTS: International Institute of Gurmat Studies (IGS) is all set to launch its 48th Sikh International Youth Camp here in California at Toro Regional Park in Salinas, Monterey from August 18 to August 25, 1996. Over 150 ‘Campers and counselors from all over US will be participating in this one week Residential Camp to learn about their great Sikh Philosophy, heritage, history and culture.
This is going to be the 4th IIGS Camp at this scenic location, amidst hills dotted with nearly 40 tents by the side of a small lake with a high fluttering Nishan Sahib. Over flowing with the highest spirits of Chardikala and Khalsa Energy, it makes a perfect learning ground for the young and Adult Khalsa as alike.
In addition to 47 Sikh youth camps held Internationally, IGS has organized six Sikh Mothers/Family Camps in California.
_ the last day of the camp Sunday August 25, 1996 is an open day for all parents and well-wishers. The concluding ceremony will be starting at 10 am. Besides performing Kirtan and giving talks, there will be a Tabla & Gatka demonstration. All campers & councilors will be participating in a very impressive Nishan Sahib Parade.
