CHANDIGARH: The Akali Dal chief, Parkash Singh Badal, Saturday described the all-party meeting held at Delhi on Thursday as a “totally futile exercise”.
In a statement issued here, Badal said that his party’s decision to boycott the said meeting stood fully vindicated. Far from offering any solution to the problem, it did not even address itself to the core issue of trying to understand the deep hurt of Sikh and Punjabi minds.
The Akali leader emphasized that instead of putting up such hollow pretense of dialogue on Punjab, the Center should announce a definite, concrete and permanent political settlement.
