AMRITSAR: The entire lot of Akali Dal (Longowal) member of Amritsar district joined the Akali Dal (Badal),
They were lead by Major Singh Uboke. The move represents a major setback for the Longowal faction lead by former Chief Minister Surjit Singh Barnala.
Barnala has agreed to amend the constitution of the Akali Dal and to insert the clauses declaring its secular and non-religious nature, This is required by the centre under newly framed laws.
The Badal group which has the Support of the detained Shromini Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee president Gurcharan Singh Tohra has declared that it will not make any changes in its constitution.
