NEW JERSEY: Bhai Avtar Singh, vice President (East) of World Sikh Organization and one of the oldest Sikh residents in the State Of New Jersey, moved into a new house, in Franklin Lanes, New Jersey. In accordance with the Sikh tradition of thanking the Akal Purakh for his blessings, Bhai Sahib had an Akhand Path on December 25, 26 with Bhog on December 27, 1986. The bhog ceremony was largely attended by Sikh sangat from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The prominent among those who attended were W.S.O. leaders Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal, Dr. Naunihal Singh.
Bhai Jeevan Singh especially flew down from the west coast for this occasion.
Bhai Avtar Singh is not only successful entrepreneur but a very fine Sikh and is responsible for building of and improving the image of Sikhs in New Jersey. Very recently, he discussed this issue with the local media in Glen Rock and was very highly appreciated for his efforts.
At the end, Bhai Sahib donated $101.00 for Sikh News for which we all feel very grateful to him and appreciate his whole hearted and thorough support to this noble cause.
