NEW YORK: Sikh Youth of New York in collaboration with Sikh Cultural Society are holding Akhand Path for the welfare and early release of Sikh young men detained in New York and New Orleans jails. Dr. Gurpartap Singh Birk is being held in New York jail, while Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Virinder Singh, Sukhvinder Singh and Jatinder Singh are in New Orleans jail. They are being tried for allegedly conspiring to kill former Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhajan Lal.
The Akhand Path will commence on Friday, January 27, 1987, at 10:00 a.m. and the Bhog will be held on Sunday, January 31, 1987 at 10:00 am. Youth leaders will address the congregation and collection for the defense of the detained youths will be made.
