Anandpur Saheb: Six Akali and student groups at a convention on the occasion of annual “hola mohalla” here passed a resolution threatening to start a civil disobedience movement if the states “puppet Beant Singh government” was dismissed by India.

No time limit for the action was fixed by the organizers who included Baba Joginder Singh, Prem Singh Chandumajra and certain A.I.S.S.F functionaries.

In another resolution, the convention pledged to support the movement for an independent Sikh state.

Evidently from the deliberations no specific agenda for action by the Sikh crosses or Akali functionaries emerged to achieve the objectives set out at the convention.

“The deliberations, it is believed were guided from behind the bar by Akali leaders.
