CHANDIGARH: Leaders of human rights organization and the Information and Initiative on Punjab disagree with the findings of the government inquiry into the lathi charge on the workers of the Akali Dal (Mann) led by the party president Mr. Simranjit Singh Mann at Bhatinda on February 26. They hold that the force used against the agitators was excessive and led to at least one death.

The leaders who constituted a parallel inquiry team alleged that Bahadur Singh son of Kartar Singh of Juinde village had been struck down by a blow and that he later succumbed to his injuries.
