STOCKTON,CA: May 21st, Singh Sahib Prof, Manjit Singh, Acting Jathedar of Akal Takhat concluded his second tour of California. During this journey he visited Gurdwaras in Los Angeles, Fresno, San Jose, BerKeley, Hayward, Sacramento, Yuba city and Stockton, He participated in three conferences on Miri Piri, Dr. Jasbir Singh Mann who is active in ‘academic Sikh students is the key person in arranging these conferences. W.S.N. will publish abstracts and details of papers presented at the conferences in coming issues. Stockton Sikhs have the tradition of taking active part in Sikh affairs right from the days of Gaddar party. Keeping with the tradition, a resolution from Sikh Sangat was presented to Jathedar Sahib. The complete text of resolutions published in Punjabi section of this issue, In this resolution an appeal was made to Singh Sahib to implement the Sarbat Khalsa resolution of Khalistan. An appeal was also made to condemn the Akalis who have abandoned the Amritsar declaration and the ones who are still committed to this declaration should be encouraged by Akal Takhat. Sikh sangat of Stockton also condemned the demolition of ChararaSharif (Mosque) in Kashmir by the Indian dammed forces. Sikhs also requested the Akal Takhat chief to convey their feelings to Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid in India. Prof. Manjit Singh Ji performed Kirtan and conveyed his answers to questions with historical examples during his explanation of Gurban Prof, Sahib made it clear that a Sikh can be successful with Guru’s grace, Gunu’s grace can be obtained by adopting Guru’s teachings, He made an appeal to all the Sikhs to give up ego and unite according to Guru’s teachings (Mat) under the banner of Akal Takhat. He made indirect reference to the question of Khalistan raised in the resolution; He asked the Sikhs to continue their activities and leave it up to the Guru. He made it clear that when our efforts will be according to Sikh each in grand the greater good of Sikhs ‘and mankind, rather than personal ego or gains, then Sikhs cannot lose.

Quoting a passage from Sikh history, he explained how Duni Chand, who deserted Guru’s army to save his life was killed by a snake and lost his life any way and Bachitar Singh a small statured, physically wearing Sikh, who with Guru’s and his faith was able to pedant in a desert encounter. Prof Sahib made it clear that whether we work with a pen, mala (rosary) or sword, we should do according to Guru’s way (Marg) then victory will be ours.

Referring to question by a newspaper that now the Government has killed all the terrorists he explained that a Sikh cannot be a terrorist and a Sikhs only a saint soldier (Jujaroo). According to Prof. Sahib, a Saint soldier cannot be defeated. He advised all Sikhs to become Amritdhari’s, Although Singh Sahib has come under attack from different quarters every‘ one is convinced and agrees about his superior intellect and simplicity. Prof. Manjit Singh ji was presented a siropa by S. Ujjal Singh Dhat on behalf of the sangat and those professors accompanying Prof. Sahib were given Siropas by Bhai Manjit Singh ji (Giani ji of Stockton Gurdwara); Dr. Jasbir Singh Mann and S.
