CHANDIGARH: The All-India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) led by Bhai Manjit Singh decided to challenge in the Supreme Court the death sentence awarded to Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda and Bhai Sukh Dev Singh Sukha in the Gen A.C.Vaidya assassination case.
The federation set up a panel consisting of Puran Singh Hundal Amar Singh Chahal Navkiran Singh Harbhajan Singh and Narinder Singh Minhas to file a writ petition in the Supreme Court in consultation with legal experts.
Among those who attended the AISSF meeting were:Bhai Manjit Singh Major Jagjit Singh Bhai Balwinder Singh Khojkipur Bhai Sarabjit Singh Jothal Bhai Sarabjit Singh Jammu Bhai Harminder Singh Gill and Puran Singh Hundal.
The Akali Dal (Baba) president Baba Joginder Singh recently criticized the verdict of the Supreme Court confirming the death sentence of the two accused and said that they were to be hanged. He said the government should accept that Operation Bluestar was a historic blunder
