JALANDHAR: AII India Sikh Students Federation (Presidium) split on Sept.17, when its reconstituted five-member body announced expulsion of Amarjit Singh Padhri and Kuldip Singh Kahlon, from the federation for ‘anti-party activities.
Stating this at a press conference here, where all five members of the reconstituted body were present. Manjit Singh Bhoma, one of the five presidium members, said the federation’s office be arrest had only authorized Padhni and Jassa Singh Gurdaspur, to hold unity talks with the Daljit Singh Bittoo faction and not to dissolve the presidium as such.
Padhri and Kahlon at a conference on September 15 announced the dissolution of the~ presidium and declared themselves as president and general secretary. They had appointed Jassa Singh Gurdaspur vice president of their faction. However, Jassa Singh, who was present at Thursday’s conference, dissociated himself from the faction led by Padhri and said he would remain with the original set up,
Besides Bhoma and Jassa Singh, the remaining three members of the reconstituted presidium are Jaswant Singh Sir hind, Ranbir Singh Khalsa and Gurdip Singh Najowal, Of the Original presidium, Padhri and Jassa Singh have parted company, while Baldev Singh Hotian, Jagwinder Singh KilaRaipur and Pirthi Singh had been killed by militants.
