AMRITSAR: Bhai Manjit Singh president All India Sikhs Students Federation (AISSF) recently expressed his concern over the six panthic organizations not having initiated any program to check the unending state repression of the Sikh masses especially in the rural areas. Despite the fact that on their call the masses boycotted the Punjab elections the six panthic organizations had failed to offer any action plan to the masses after the boycott of the elections Bhai Manjit Singh charged.

Bhai Manjit Singh at a press conference here said that the performance of the six panthic organizations till this date was “dismal.”

The killings of the Sikh youth in “fake encounters” humiliation of young Sikh women in the police Station and beating up of the elders have convinced the masses that all they have gained nothing by boycotting the elections says Bhai Manjit Singh.

Without naming any leader Bhai Manjit Singh said that some leaders announced their party Program without consulting other leaders of the panthic Organizations. Though Bhai Manjit Singh did not name Mann but by implications it was his Party which announced the Punjab bandh call for 48 hours to protest against the killing of Bhai Gurjant Singh faran Was announced ‘by the Akali Dal (Mann)

Bhai Manjit Singh appeared quite upset over all this said that his party would not remain a silent spectator but would like to play an effective role in strengthening the unity among the member organization. A meeting of the AISSF district units and other leaders had been called at Amritsar on August 25 to chalk out a program and strategy for saying the masses from the Tepression Bhai Manjit Singh said.

Reacting to Beant Singh’s statement regarding maha Punjab Bhai Manjit Singh said that to cover up his government bankruptcy he issued logical statement such as creation of maha Punjab expected Punjab packages etc.

He also said that the Punjab government under a scheme wanted to finish all the Sikh youth from 15 to 30.

Bhai Manjit Singh said that the PPCC (I) used official machinery for Organizing: its mass contract Program but was refusing Akalis from organization their rallies. The leaders were being detained to stop them from holding the rally against repression on august 5 at Taran Taran
