TORONTO: According to statistics Canada’s report, in 1991, 18.6% of greater Toronto area’s population was aged 55 or older. Across the country, nearly 20% of the population was 55 or older. In Saskatchewan, 5.7% of the population is ages above 75. The northwest territines had the lowest percentage of seniors 55 or older at 6.3% and 0.8% are 75 and up, Among cities, British Columbia’s Victoria had the highest proportion of seniors 55 and older at 27%.
