NEW DELHI (PTI): The fortnight long abduction drama of noted dermatologist Dr.P.N Behl by ended last week with his return to the new friends colony residence in south Delhi.
Dr.Behl 70 was kidnapped by four armed youth from his clinic in Ghaziabad an industrial town in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Dec.29,1993.
Dr.Behl and his family denied having paid any ransom for his release and maintained that the gang set him free on their own reports financial express on last Friday.
The abductors had demanded Rs 5 million as ransom.
However police intelligence sources said that the ransom money _was paid through Madan Bhatia widely believed to be a gang lord now turned politician who after keeping his share gave the rest to the gang behind abduction.
