JAMMU: Shehnaz Begum, a young Pakistani woman undergoing one year imprisonment for illegal entry into Jammu and Kashmir, has given birth to a baby girl. Jail sources here on Wednesday said she had been taken to Poonch to attend a court case in connection with her getting pregnant during detention at Poonch jail. The delivery took place at a hospital there. Her pregnancy was detected during a medical checkup in April. During questioning she confessed to having developed relations with ahead warden at Poonch jail. The authorities registered a case against head warden Din Mohammed and suspended him. Shehnaz was apprehended by the security forces from border area of Noweshra last year. She was sentenced by a court and initially lodged at Poonch jail and then shifted to Central Jail here.
