CHANDIGARH: Twelve persons, including an assistant sub inspector and seven militants, were killed in the north Indian state of Punjab April 30.
Militants in a jeep kidnapped a police inspector and two other persons from a grain market in Faridkot district.
Police said two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter in Sangrur district. One Stenguns with magazine, 12 cartridges and one bomb was recovered from the spot all Militants are fighting in Punjab for creation of a Sikh homeland “Khalistan” (land of the pure).
