The World Sikh Organization (Canada) will commemorate Dec.10, 1993, International Human Rights Day, by making a plea to the United Nations to formally request the Government of India to cease and desist all human rights abuses against non-Hindu seers in India. Inspite of loud claims that efforts Ar being made to alleviate the pain and suffering of people, little attention is given to the suffering that occurs in India on a daily basis. The “greatest democracy” daily commits siatesanctioned crimes of illegal detention extrajudicial killings, torture, rape, and genocide, The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was created to ensure the rights of all human beings across the globe, regardless of race, creed or color. Why has India not been held accountable for their continual violations of these rights? The W.S.O. Canada is seeking the assistance of the Canadian community and the international community, to assist in efforts to rectify the HR. situation in India.
