AURANGABAD: The controversial Deputy Commissioner of the Bombay Municipal Corporation G R. Khaimar has asserted that the demolition of legal constructions of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim Tiger Memon and others which were carried out Smoothly during the regime of former Chief Minister Sudhakar Rao Naik were being obstructed since Mr Naik ’sex it as Chief Minister This has been disclosed in one of the document papers Mr Khaimar possessed and handed over yesterday to a group of newsmen who sought evidence to substantiate his repeated claims of a nexus between the underworld dons and top politicians the state

The papers contained the information as to how Bashir Patel Salim Talwara Tiger Memon Bhan Thakur Pappu Kalani Dawood Ibrahim and others had been indulging in state politics corruption smuggling illegal constructions and harassment of the general public Mr Khaimar said all this information was conveyed to the government by him bat instead of taking any action the politicians directly or indirectly brought pressures on him through high-ranking officials not to demolish their illegal constructions and take any diction against them Mr Khaimar also handed over to media men an open letter written by Mr S. S Tinaikar (IAS retired) the former Bombay Municipal Commissioner to Mr Murti Deora MP apprising him of the corrupt Activities being conducted IS the ministerial level and about criminalization of politics with the support of top politicians. Mr Khaimar said he had replied for the Bombay Municipal Commissioner S.G. Kale’s memo dated May 23 accusing him of violin the code of service discipline He said he had not vomited any rules and was discharging his duty honestly

Mr Khaimar said he had all the Substantial is evidences and eXpressed his desire to put all these evidences before an honest judge who could inquire impartially into his allegations against the top people in Maharashtra ministry and underworld dons before his death
