NEW DELHI (PTI): An earthquake measuring 6.5 on Richter Scale shook Delhi and neighboring areas July 1.
The seismological office said the quake which hit the national capital at 1453 hrs (0923 gmt) had its epicenter in the Hindu kush mountains at Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.
The impact of the earthquake was felt only for a few seconds seismological office said People in high-rise buildings here rushed down as the impact was mostly felt at higher floors.
There was no report of any loss of life or property.
