NEW DELHI: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has told Arunachal Pradesh to ensure the life and property of the ‘Chakma and Hajong refugees living in the State.
In orders issued last week, the NHRC said it was the obligation of the State Government to protect the people and ensure that their human rights were not violated. It thus asked the State to take all possible measures for the safety of the refugees.
