JAIPUR (PTI): The federal government’s operation blackboard scheme, launched to realize the objectives of the national education policy, has failed due to lack of proper monitoring and evaluation in Rajasthan, according to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.

The test check of the implementation of the scheme between 1987-88 and 1991-92 by CAG revealed that no proper monitoring and evaluation of the working of the scheme al the state level was done.

The position of appointments of teachers and vacancies available and details of training and learning equipment’s, received and distributed to schools, and number of type of material lying undistributed was not known it added.

 The state government did not possess information regarding schools still deficient in teachers, buildings and equipment’s as on March 31, 1992 “as a result of which the overall impact of the scheme in the state could not be assessed,” the CAG commented.
