AMRITSAR; The unified All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) while announcing the inclusion of Kanwaljit Singh Sandhu a hijacker undergoing life imprisonment in the Ajmer jail in the ad hoc committee of the Federation has at the same time resolved that its members will not take part in armed struggle directly or in directly. A meeting of the supreme council and ad hoc committee members held in the Golden Mee complex last week decided that the federation would work for bringing the Sikh youth closer to their heritage creating awareness about their religion and struggle for the rights of students and Sikhs in a democratic manner.

Disclosing this in a press Virsa and Singh Valtoha a  of the supreme council at the federation would launch a recruitment drive to enlist about 50,000 youth However the meeting allowed existing members who had crossed the age barrier to continue as members for one year. It was also decided to summon a general house meeting of the federation on November 10 where the new delegates would elect a president. The meeting was attended among others by supreme council members Jasbir Singh Ghuman Harminder Singh Gill Gurdip Singh Najowal Bhupinder Singh Khalsa and Virsa Singh Valtoha.
