NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force is seeking additional squadrons of both its frontline fighters MiG-29 and Mirage 2000 in a bid to restore the balance of power in the sub-continent skies
In the first go 30 MiG-29Ms the advanced version of the MiG-29 series have been proposed to bolster the air defence network This batch along with six trainers will add to the existing two squadrons of the MiG-29 currently operated by the [AF TAF has simultaneously working on reducing its dependence on foreign sources for ground attack MiG-27 the only aircraft being manufactured in country under Russian license — A three day MiG-27operatorsconference was held at Nasik recently where IAP engineers and pilots sought to thrash out the critical Spares problem with engineers of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited the makers of the aircraft.
