JAMMU; The Indian Army has been acutely embarrassed by an announcement by home minister Rajesh Pilot that Doda area of Jammu and Kashmir could be subjected 10 air strikes:

Pilot had told a news agency on June 7 that more forces including army and Rapid Action Force would be deployed in the troubled Doda area

An Indian army officer said (hat the air strikes announcement made no military logic The army strikes: could be against certain targets but militants had been roaming about in the forests and in the hilly areas. The officer noted that Pilots announcement had created a scare in the Kashmir valley and on the other side of the Line of Control.

Inspector General of Police Jammu Region Surinder Singh Wazir commented “I have no knowledge of any air strike   the officer hinted that the morale of the police force was at the lowest.
