STOCKTON,CA: Jasbir Singh and his wife Harjit are doing a wonderful job at the Tandoori Nites Restaurant they have established o1 $102 Kelley Dr. in Stockton, The restaurant is a hot favorite with the citizens of Stockton and in the short time since its inception in September 1993 it has built up an excellent clientele.

The popularity of Tandoori Nites is much due to the personality of its owner and chief chef, Jasbir who has over 10 years of experience in this field. A sober and pleasant person, Jasbir knows the taste of his Clientele very well and caters to them with delicacies like Tandoori Chicken, Lamb curry and Bhindi masala and Naans plus numerous other delectable, mouthwatering dishes. He makes sure to have them well cooked and not too spicy. There is a personal touch to every dish that flows out of the kitchen. This is the secret of his success. As well as the restaurant, a thriving catering business has developed which serves the community for miles around whether for a wedding, party or public event-the quality is first rate as this writer can attest.

Harjit who looks after the interior decoration and manages the counter is full of energy. She has tastefully decorated the interior with Indian paintings and wall hangings making sure that the effect is not overdone. She is always there to receive her clients with a sweet smile. Both Jasbir and Harjit were born in India and migrated to the Country about 15 years ago. Jasbir is a Jat from Nawan Shahae Hoshiarpur while Harjit came from Delhi first to the East Coast and then moved to the west after mamage with Jasbir. Tandoori Nites is a joint of venture started by Jasbir and his partner Dilbag Singh who lives in San Jose and ‘occasionally comes to Stockton.

Before starting the Tandoori Nitess here, Jasbir had a joint stake in a restaurant at Dublin Ca. which was also very popular but has since closed down. Prior to that he worked at Gaylord’s in San Francisco where he had calmed an excellent reputation for his delicious preparations.

Stockton is lucky to have a dedicated and good naturde couple like Jasbir and Harjit at the Tandoori Nites to offer its citizens a large variety of Indian dishes. We wish them Success in their venture.
