NEW Delhi: Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Yossi Berlin will visit India April 1-4, the government announced last week.
Berlin will have political consultations with Indian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs R.L. Bhatia that would include the progress achieved by the West Asia peace process, the Israeli embassy release said.
In a major foreign-policy move, India a traditional supporter of Arab causes announced in January 1992 that it was establishing full diplomatic relations with Israel The two countries exchanged ambassadors the same year.
India and Israel share many common security concerns, including Pakistan’s clandestine nuclear-weapons program and the growth of Islamic fundamentalism in central and southwest Asia.
