CHANDIGARH: The Punjab police whose two battalions have been earmarked for posting in Assam to fight ULFA militants. have developed cold feet. According to intelligence reports a majority of the police officers and men are upset at the proposal. Some of them are said to be contemplating going to courts to seek a stay order on the arduous posting. The Punjab government is toying with the idea of giving one rank promotion to the police personnel to break their resistance Even the Assam government is not very enthusiastic about the Punjab policemen because they are ignorant of the area and the language and customs of the people of Asam
