NEW DELHI-The first Panthic Committee headed by Wassan Singh Jaffarwal has appealed to the International community to send independent representatives to visit Punjab and investigate crimes that have not been perpetrated by militants
In a statement issued by Jaffarwal and released by his London-based Press Secretary Ajit Singh Khera the Panthic Committee alleged that in order to justify the Punjab polices Campaign of repression and Tarnish the image of organizations such as Jaffarwal the Governments intelligence agencies have been organizing militant activities
As an instance the Panthic Commilice ponied to the recent bombings in Amritsar and Ludhiana in which innocent people lost their lives; Jaffarwal condemned these killings.
The committee also alleged that the Delhi police had recently concocted stories implicating Sikh Involvement in terrorism This is SCCN as din attempt by the Panthic Commilice to distance itself from terrorism as an alternative form of political activity. The Panthic Committee was formed on Jan26, 1986 to call for the establishment of a sovereign Khalistan.
In this context the statement Mentions the tremendous international awareness of gross violators of human rights in Punjab referring specifically to US President Bill Clintons statement that the Punjab problem was not one of law and order but of political conflict which cannot be resolved without the protection of Sikh rights.
