CHANDIGARH: The Khalistan Liberation Front (KLF)has some letters to the Punjab University teachers directing them to stop discrimination against Sikh students and Punjabi at. The letters were received by the teachers on Jan.8. These teachers are from the Department of Pharmacy. The Chandigarh Police has started investigation in the matter. These letters have warned the teachers against the discrimination or’ face the consequences. The letters reportedly signed by three ‘militants the names of Wolof them spelled incorrectly. However the third name has been written correctly. The incorrect names do have a similarity with certain militants.
The letters were received by the teachers at their home. In fact after the letters were brought to the notice of the head of the Department he is reported to have written about it to the Vice-Chancellor Dr.T.N. Kapoor. This was very casually referred to the University’s Registrar S.P.Dhavan who in tum wrote to the local police about it. Senior police officials confirmed that the police came for know about the letters only towards the end of January. The police is now investigating the episode to find out who wrote these letters. As matter of precaution the local police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have increased patrolling on the Punjab University Campus.
