NEW DELHI (PTI): The pro Hindu opposition: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jan.21 distanced itself from Ally Shiv Sena on the controversy over renaming of the Maratha wada University and demanded that the Maharasthra government rehabilitate all the Backward Class victims of the recent violence in the state.
Pany spokesman Krishan Lal Sharma told newsmen here electoral alliance with the Shiv Sena does not mean we would agree on every issue.
Asked whether the party would have an electoral alliance with the Shiv Sena in Maharastra following the latter’s opposition to the renaming of the University he said we can have electoral alliance with Shiv Sena in future even though differences may be there.
In a statement the All India secretary and president of the scheduled castes Morcha of the party Bangaru Laxman demanded ail statues of Dr. Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar damaged of defiled during the violence be erected at government cost school buildings and libraries be repaired and also permanent houses be given to those whose houses were burnt during the riots.
