CHANDIGARH: A rather unusual order by the Punjab Health Department directing the state government doctors posted in Chandigarh and Mohali to provide medical services to JAS officers at their residence here has made the hackles of medicos to Ties.

The order was issued by Director, Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, Dr. Dalbir Singh Bakshi, shortly before he retired from government service at the end of September his year. It is addressed to medical officers, in charge of MLA Flats dispensary, Government dispensary in Sector 39, dispensary in mini civil secretariat Sector 9 and civil hospital at Mohali.

 

The order asks medical officers to instruct doctors under them to provide medical services “on call” to TAS officers at their residence.

The order further directs them to ensure the implementation of the order and wants strict action to be taken against those doctors who violate the order.
