BANGALORE: The Congress on Nov.14 expelled 33 rebel candidates who had contested against the official nominees.

The AICC observer in charge of Kamataka, Santosh Mohan Dev, told reporter Shere that these rebels had been expelled from the party for six years from the primary membership from the date of their filing of nominations since they did not heed to the party’s directives to withdraw from the contest. Dey said that the rebels who were expelled included six siting MLAs K. Bheemanna, A. V. Urn apathy, G.S. Shivananjappa.
