Dear Editor,
Thanks for the article Sikhs Scammed in Canada published in the WSN, which was read and appreciated by many readers here.
Through this letter I invite you to share the contents of the above article and other Sikh concerns worldwide for the next decade, 19942004. The previous decade was of attack onus Sikhs, followed by our agony, anger, anguish and accomplishments thereafter, we have got to look forward in the best interests of over 20 million fellow Sikhs now, who are a fully alert force to disseminate truth from falsehood, progress from propaganda and victory from defeat. The series of attack on Sikhs and Gurdwaras in the USA is of grave concern, whether by the Sikh infiltrators or Sikhs in the garb of our enemies or continued, sinister schemes by the various governments using Sikhs against Sikhs.
As a fellow journalist, I admire the way WSN has done several stories and continue to be an important Sikh newspaper for all. It deserves the attention and support of all concerned Sikhs with a view to make WSN better and further known on both sides of the Atlantic. My son personal experience with Sikh Press is alive but the high costs, lack of income, debts and financial hardships conflict with my input and deadline. Still, I can’t give up as a Sikh or as a journalist and would like to move ahead in search of true investigative Sikh-oriented stories, news gathering and photos in the future. Some are as follows:
1, Indian Home Minister S. B. Chavan in Canada from Oct. 22 for a five-day visit and Sikhs are urged to meet him for a dialogue. He will be signing a Mutual legal Assistance Treaty in Ottawa which seeks to deal with undesirable elements, exchange of information on undesirable elements, drug trafficking and allied matters of mutual interest.
2, Global Sikh Meet in Amritsar from Nov. 2427, 1994 organized by SGPC and Akal Takht.
