“In a letter addressed to Sikh officers and men in the Indian Army Gurmet Singh Aulakh President Council of Khalistan has appealed to them to refuse to oppress Kashmir and to unite with them in the struggle for freedom. He said others like the Sikhs Kashmiris have suffered thousands “of deaths fighting for freedom again formidable odds.”

“Our struggles are one and I strongly urge all Sikh soldiers and officers serving in Kashmir to cease oppression of the Kashmiris and support their right of freedom. To do otherwise is to fall victim to the strategy of the Indian government which operates on the principle of divide and rule. India is afraid of Kashmir Khalistan unity in the cause of freedom and justice [t wants us as slaves not as free people But our combined resolve can finally break the shackles of oppression”
