CHANDIGARH: CP(M) leader Harkishan Singh Surjeet has collected Rs 3 crore to run a new Punjabi daily from here. He announced at a function that the newspaper would be run on commercial lines. A one-acre plot from the Chandigarh government has got allotted by the CP (M) leader; Surjeet is regarded as a resourceful Communist who has access to the Indian prime minister and his offices. The newspaper management would be controlled by a trust he said.
