NEW DELHI; The Hindu fundamentalist organization, R.S.S, is worried about a sharp drop in full-time workers in Punjab due to fear of the Khalistan movement. However, the R.S.S. network in the Communist-dominated Kerala state has grown.
Many R.S.S. workers are also speculating about “who after Deoras.” The present chief is 76. He has been at the helm of affairs since 1973. Among the likely successors are Prof H.V. Seshadri and Prof Rajinier Singh, The former is general secretary and the latter joint general secretary, Seshardri is a Brahman while Rajinder is a Rajput. If Rajinder is chosen to succeed Deoras, the leadership of the fascist organization for the first time will go to a non-Maratha, non-Brahaman. The practice is that the R.S.S. chief himself nominates his successor and until his death the nomination is kept a closely guarded secret.
