LONDON: Keith Vaz, one of the ‘Opposition labor MPs has joined the increasing number of British MPs who support the Kashmiri Struggle for Independence,

Mr. Vaz cosponsored a motion in the House of Commons tabled recently, supporting the call fora plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.

The pro Kashmir lobby in the labor party tabled a motion in the House of Commons calling for a United Nations sponsored plebiscite in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, Keith Vaz joined Max Madden in tabling the motion, which called for the right of self-determination for the Kashmiris.

In all 29 labor and one Liberal Democrat party MPs signed the motion which, besides congratulating Bhutto on her election fora second term as Prime Minister of Pakistan, wished her government every success in tackling Pakistan’s economic and social problems and “in securing the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir.” Meanwhile, Kashmir separatists have mounted a campaign to s¢ cure the release of Amanullah Khan, leader of the outlawed Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), who was arrested in Brussels last week.

They have formed a “free Amanullah Khan Campaign,” headed by Lord Ave bury, chairman of Parliamentary Human Rights group. The campaigners are planning a demonstration outside the Belgian Embassy on Oct31.

‘The Belgian police arrested Khan in Brussels on Oct.18 after an Interpol warrant was issued by In dia. Khan, was held while visiting Brussels at the invitation of the European Parliament for a conference on Kashmir.
