NEW DELHI: Janata Dal leader George Femandes feels that the entire Hazratbal operation in Srinagar has been “conjured up” by the Congress Party and the country’s external security agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
In an interview, Mr,Femandes alleged the entire episode has been Stage managed by the Congress, with an eye on the Assembly elections. This is a well thought out Congress and RAW operation.”
The RAW, according to Mr. Fernandes, was the “dirty tricks department” of the ruling party, is officers were willing to help the Congress because the party knew they had already lost the Muslim vote.
Mr. Femandes says “the Congress is ruthless enough to launch such an operation to secure one percent more votes in the elections. The blood of about a hundred innocent Kashmiris have already been spilled. 1am sure more blood will spill before the game is over.” The JD leader is convinced that the operation is stage managed because it is not rare for militants to be seen with arms in Srinagar mosques, especially on Fridays. “What is so great about people carrying arms in the Valley? Every second person cares a run there. And even if a few men were inside, the J&K police could have gone in and got them out, This is nothing but a poll game.”
