Dear Congressman Ackerman:
We write to you this letter with great remorse and concern regarding your stand against the Sikhs along with Pro India lobbying in the U.S. Congress with special reference to the Burton Amendment.
You are a Jew and come from a minority background like us. We are shocked and dismayed descent to know that a person of Jewish decent will stand on the House floor openly condemning an aggrieved minority and join hands with a tyrant government of India who in recent years has come to be recognized as one of the worst offenders of human rights of its own citizens. Not only one, but many international organizations, such as Amnesty International and Asta Watch amongst others are raising hue and cry regarding these gross violations which include extrajudicial killings, massacre and genocide,
It was indeed extremely disturbing to know that you stood on the floor and quoted Sikh militants as the ones who blew up the Indian Prime Minister. Some of us have watched you on CSPAN. How wrong can you get? How could you blame the Sikhs when they were not even involved in the act? For your information, it is a well-known fact that it was the TAMIL LADY who blew him apart and whose group in tum has been trained by Mossad in Israel, What a shame it is fora U.S. Congress man to tell a lie like this. As you are well aware, there are always militants in any struggle for freedom who will fight the Oppressor and tyrant the same way as the tyrant is doing, but that does not mean the whole community should be discredited. Look at the Jewish struggle for independence for the State of Israel. Nobody has forgotten the names of Menachem Begin, David Bengunan, Yitzhak Shamir and Eli Cohen, amongst others, who were terrorists in the eyes of their oppressors but freedom fighters in the eyes of the Jews. Sikhs are no exception, Sikhs not only fought Hitler and the ty rant Nazis, but also helped Jews make the State of Israel. If you do a little research you will find these to be facts.
Sikh leaders were the first ones to recognize the state of Israel as an independent country in 1949, whereas India never acknowledged Israel until recently, something more, the Indian government till recently prohibited the Sikhs and others from traveling to Israel and South Africa, because they have not been the friendly countries. Have we forgotten these facts?
The recent opening of the Holocaust museum in Washington DC, is are minder to us all that this shall “NEVER AGAIN” happen on the face of the earth. Let us revere that pledge which applies to every community, no 1 Jews alone. Being citizens of the United States of America, the greatest nation on the face of the earth, we also have a mutual obligation as Americans to show respect to each-others sentiments, religious beliefs and human rights and to work together to oppose the tyrant no matter who he or she may be in any part of the world, Let us give you some scenario about the Sikh faith Sikhs believe in one God and pray for the welfare of the whole mankind. Sikhs are peace loving people, but never submit to oppression. It is the history of the Sikhs that they do not forgive tyrants. Look at the quest of Nazi hunting by the Jews, Believe us, the Sikhs are no exception, The day the Sikhs get their own State of Khalistan, the tyrants will be brought to book, But one scenario Sikhs will not like to see is the affiliation of Jews Or any other God fearing people with the tyrants who have mass a cred and butchered the innocent Sikhs,
We plead with you Congress man, 10 please understand and do what is right in the name of humanity and not get carried away by any short term gain. A tyrant is never any bodies friend. Let us not create a black chapter in our histories and draw a wedge between our two communities. We all need each other in this time of need. At present we are going through very trying but changing times India is going through a transition with the radical fundamentalist Hindu majority (BJP) coming into power, That in itself will prove to be the further downfall of that country not to speak of corruption and oppression of the minorities. India shall disintegrate soon, and Khalistan shall emerge as a power to reckon with. Please help us and not oppose us. Today the whole Sikh world is observant of their friends and foes alike and history shall be the witness. May God Bless You,
