BOMBAY (PTI): The Malaysian government was keen on developing small and medium scale industries and looked towards India for its managerial and entrepreneurial skills, dato” V.K.K.Teagarajan, vice president of the national chamber of commerce and industry and leader of a 24member Malaysian delegation Dec.15 said.

India could gain easy access through his country to the Asian Free Trade market, he said while accessing the Indian merchant’s chamber here.

Teagarajan said there was a rise in imports from India for the first half of this year and added that there were many areas suitable for joint ventures between the two countries.

Chamber president, Harsh Goenka, said Malaysia was an important partner for India in that it accounts for almost 20% India’s edible oil imports and one third of its natural rubber imports.
