VANCOUVER: Like the previous year, this year too, a jatha of about 20 Sikh devotees from gurdwara Khalsa Diwan Society, Ross Street, Vancouver, Canada, participated in the spectacular celebrations held at Gurdwara Tierra Buena Yuba City, California, on the auspicious occasion of Gurgaddi Day of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, The grand celebrations were held on November 2 3,1991.
Led by Bhai Gurjit Singh Paba, the jatha left Vancouver for Yuba
City by road and Participated in the celebrations including the grand Nagar Kirtan which was taken out on November 3. The jutha joined the Nagar Kirtan displaying their Danner on a tastefully decorated Moat. The colorful surging sea o} Sikh, saffron turbans and dupatta was more than 3 miles long in which almost all the outstanding Sikh So. Gaieties of America took part with various mottos and banners.
Under the banner of Khalsa Diwar Society Vancouver, Bhai Gus Singh Pabla, Gurbux Singh Bal, Hardial Singh Dhindsa, JasbirSingh Niljar, Master Sew Dhatt, Kabul Singh Dosanjh, Piara Singh Gill Gusdial Singh Dhanoa and others attended the function.
It was in 1708 that Gura Gobind Singh, the 10th and fast Guni of the Sikhs, bestowed Gurgeddi (Guruship) to Granth Sahib and or Gained the Sikhs to venerate the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib Scripture) as their eternal Gur.
