AYODHYA: With Hindus deter- mined to converge at the Babri Masjid complex Muslim families have started trickling out. Of the temple town, Watching. With rowing alarm the tum of events here, members of the 150 Muslims families in Ayodhya have started leaving for other part of the State.
Meanwhile, unruffled by the restrictions in the Luck now bench’s order on the acquired land around the complex, the Vishwa Hindu Paris had (VHP) on Saturday assented it would ultimately come their way since the Kalyan Singh Government was committed to pave the way for temple construction.
Onkar Bhave, central organizing secretary of the VEP, told journalists the Uttar Pradesh
Government and those leading the temple movement were of the same stock. “Riti, nti aur kam tkarne ke arike dono ke ek hi hai (our traditions, policies and style of functioning are the same). The State Government is quite confident about us. Jo hum chahenge woh hi hoga (whatever we desire ‘will happen),” said Bhave.
According to him the Luck now bench’s order was of an interim nature. We are confident the next order will work to our advantage and fit into our plan of things. C Certain clauses in Friday’s order have no meaning. For instance, how can one acquire land and not construct anything. We shall have to sit and examine what is meant by a permanent and a temporary structure.
The court order prohibits construction of a permanent structure on the acquired land. We are, however, satisfied with the over- all judgment. Wait and watch, The land will ultimately come our way”, he said.
The VHP leader hinted at further emotions within the complex in the very near future”. To
A query on whether the VEP, “when the acquired land comes their way”, would demolish the Ram Chabootra and the sitaki-raso, which fall in the area to be acquired, Bhave said the structures would be gone very soon, He was also categorical in his assertion that the remaining half of Sankt ‘Mochan mandir would be “re- moved after necessary rituals”.
Bhave said V.P Singh was free to visit Ayodhya for a darshan of the shrine. However, he warned of stiff opposition from VHP if V.P Singh came here “with some other designs”.
He did not expect “requests for a change in program from the state Government. “Jab
Kab jelene wale ‘aur dene wale ek hi hain to phir His baat katatray (when those who so quire land and those who will receive are the same, there is no question of difference of opinion)” he said.
Senior VHP leaders, including Ashok Singhal and Giriraj Kishore, are expected to return to the temple town in the next few days. Security at “karsewakpuram,” the camp organized by the VHP, has been tightened. Bajrang Dal activists man its entrance and frisk people after making them pass through metal detectors.
